Mark Wood is the CEO and founder of Control Technologies UK Ltd; a thriving business he built from a one-man operation to a team of 15, with annual revenues exceeding £2 million. Mark began his career as a self-taught engineer, following various paths after school before discovering his passion for engineering. Starting as an Applications Engineer, he worked on real-time control systems across multiple industries and territories. His career then saw him lead the UK office of a prominent German microcontroller and sensor manufacturer for six years, gaining invaluable experience before launching his own ventures.
Mark’s strengths lie in empowering others to deliver their best work and his unwavering focus on practical, solutions-driven approaches. Passionate about leveraging new technology, he thrives on solving problems with innovative ideas and turning challenges into opportunities.
Outside of work, Mark is heavily involved in grassroots football as Vice Chairman of a youth football club and coach of his son’s team. When he’s not on the pitch, you’ll find him experimenting in the kitchen, walking his dog, or making the occasional effort to visit the gym.
Mark is a proud member of the Institute of Directors (MIoD) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET), always striving to stay ahead in the ever-evolving world of technology.
